Within the hard shell, you can protect your breakable items with clothing or other padding to keep it safe, and not have to worry about it being hit by the corner or wheel of someone else’s bag.

Soft-shell cases, however, do have the advantage that they can be squished into smaller spaces, and can accommodate items that don’t quite fit the unstretched dimensions of the bag.

Soft-shell bags do tend to have a more casual look than hard-shell though, so for optimal sophistication or glamor, the hard case comes out on top.

July and August are usually considered the best time to buy luggage. Why?
