Import Duties and Taxes

Prepaid Duties & Taxes for Countries Listed Below:

For residents of the US, EU countries, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia: if you live in any of these countries, you will not be charged any additional import duties or taxes. In the rare event that you are charged additional fees, please contact us at service@vonbaer.com and make sure to attach proof of the incurred costs.

Policy for Other Countries:

If you live outside the countries listed above, you may be required to pay import duties and taxes once your order arrives in your country. As these charges are subject to local customs policies, it is your responsibility to check and understand them. We advise consulting your local customs office or conducting your own research to ascertain these potential costs before placing your order.

In the rare event that an item is returned to Von Baer due to inaction of the client, any refund issued will be subject to a non-refundable return shipping fee of 10% described below.

 

Exchanges

The first exchange is complimentary. To qualify for an exchange, the price of the new item must not be more than 35% lower than the price of the original item. We will refund the price difference if the original item was more expensive than the exchanged item, but you will be required to cover the difference if the exchanged item is more expensive than the original. If the price of the new item is more than 35% lower than that of the original item, the transaction will be treated as a return. Please note that only the first exchange is complimentary; any subsequent exchanges will be treated as returns. You can read our returns policy further below.

To exchange an item, it must be returned within 14 days from the date of delivery and must be unused, in perfect condition, and complete with the original product and shipping packaging. When returning a bag, please ensure the original stuffing, including the air pillows, is placed back inside to prevent damage during transit. Additionally, all included accessories that are part of the product, such as shoulder straps, luggage tags, money clips, and other components, must be placed in the same positions as they were originally shipped. All shipping and packaging conditions required for returns, including the use of the original shipping box or a 5-ply carton box, also apply to exchanges. This includes using the original shipping box for the prepaid courier service label. If the original box is no longer available, the customer must use a 5-ply (five layers) carton box and arrange shipping through a courier service of their choice. Failure to include the original stuffing may result in damage, and returns that arrive damaged due to improper packaging will not be eligible for a refund or exchange. Each item must be returned individually to ensure proper protection and maintain the condition of the product; combining multiple items into one package is not permitted, as it may compromise both the safety and appearance of the products, potentially causing permanent damage. If these conditions are not met, neither an exchange nor a return will be accepted, and the item will not be eligible for a refund or exchange. This ensures that all returned products are in a condition suitable for resale.

Personalized and Custom-Made Products

Due to the permanent nature of item personalization and the custom-made nature of certain products, such as the Classic and Premier belts, we are unable to offer exchanges or refunds for personalized or custom-made items.

Returns

If you wish to return an item, you can do so within 14 days from the date of delivery. Please return the goods to the return address specified below.

Items must be returned unused, undamaged, and in perfect condition, complete with the original product and shipping packaging. When returning a bag, please ensure the original stuffing, including air pillows, is placed back inside to prevent damage during transit. Additionally, all included accessories that are part of the product, such as shoulder straps, luggage tags, money clips, and other components, must be placed in the same positions as they were originally shipped. Returns that arrive damaged due to improper packaging will not be eligible for a refund. Each item must be returned individually to ensure proper protection and maintain the condition of the product; combining multiple items into one package is not permitted, as it may compromise both the safety and appearance of the products, potentially causing permanent damage.

We recommend using our prepaid courier service return label, but please note that this service is available only if the item is returned in its original shipping box and packaging. If you use our prepaid label, a return shipping fee of 10% of the original cost of the returned items will be deducted from your refund, subject to a minimum fee of €50. This fee covers the costs associated with the return process, including shipping insurance, handling, inspection, reimporting, and restocking of items.

If the original shipping box is no longer available, you will need to arrange the return using a courier service of your choice, ensuring that a 5-ply (five layers) carton box is used to prevent damage during transit. If these conditions are not met, the return will not be accepted, and the item will not be eligible for a refund. This ensures that all returned products are in a condition suitable for resale.

If you choose to return an item using your own courier, ensure you use a recorded delivery service and keep your proof of postage. Although this method is permitted, it lacks the security of our prepaid service. We will not be liable for parcels lost or damaged in transit, and such returns will not be refunded.

After receiving return confirmation from Von Baer, the return must be shipped back within 7 days from the date of confirmation. Failure to do so will result in the return being declined, and any items shipped after this timeframe will not be refunded. Please ensure timely shipment to avoid losing eligibility for a refund. This ensures that the return process is completed in a timely manner, allowing us to process your refund promptly and maintain the quality of our products.

Personalized and Custom-Made Products

Due to the permanent nature of item personalization and the custom-made nature of certain products, such as the Classic and Premier belts, which are tailored to individual specifications, including the belt length provided by you, we are unable to offer exchanges or issue refunds for these items. Please ensure all personalization and customization details are correct before placing your order.

Damaged or Defective Items

If any item, including personalized items, arrives damaged or defective, please report it within 48 hours of delivery. We will make arrangements for a replacement. When returning such items, please ensure that the original stuffing (e.g., air pillows) is placed back inside the bag to avoid further damage during transit. If the original stuffing is not used, and the product is damaged as a result, we reserve the right not to issue a refund.

Refund Processing Time

After receiving and inspecting the returned items, refunds are typically processed within 10 business days and credited back to the original payment method. Please note, the time it takes for the refund to appear in your account may vary depending on your bank’s policies and the method of payment used.
