Von Baer laptop bags combine Cuoio Superiore certified Italian leather with solid brass hardware from Italian workshops, using vegetable-tanning techniques continuous in Tuscany since 1961. We tan our leather over 48 to 72 hours using natural plant tannins (quebracho, mimosa and chestnut), where the typical industry cycle is 8 hours of chrome tanning. Our laptop-bag range covers padded sleeves from 14 inches up to 17 inches, with a one-bag convertible carry-on for travel.

• Cuoio Superiore Certified Leather: We carry Cuoio Superiore certification on most laptop bags in this range. Our certification audit covers raw-hide source, full-grain status and plant-tannin tanning method, plus ISO 14001 environmental compliance for the tannery itself. We chose third-party certification because self-declared leather grades carry no enforceable standard. Our leather meets the same quality criteria across every batch, not whatever the tannery decided to ship that month.
