Von Baer designer duffel bags use leather produced in Tuscany with vegetable-tanning techniques unchanged since 1961, with hardware crafted in Italian workshops and a natural cotton canvas lining. Across the range, our duffles run from 2.2 kg (4.85 lbs) in the soft-sided Weekender to 4 kg (8.82 lbs) in the wheeled Voyager, priced from $1,495 to $1,695.

• Cuoio Superiore Certified Leather: Each duffel in this range carries Cuoio Superiore certification - an independent Italian leather standard with laboratory testing and on-site audits at least every three years by an outside testing institute. Cuoio Superiore's audit covers raw-hide source, full-grain status, plant-tannin tanning method and ISO 14001 environmental compliance. We chose third-party certification because self-declared leather grades carry no enforceable standard - just a brand promise.
• Solid Brass Hardware And YKK Zippers: Our locks, rivets, base feet and shoulder strap clasps are solid brass crafted in Italian workshops, not plated zinc alloy. We chose brass because in our repair experience hardware can fail before the leather does - plated zinc chips and tarnishes where brass holds its finish. The wheeled Voyager pairs that brass hardware with Japanese YKK double-slider main zippers across the main compartment - which are known for their smoothness and durability.
• Carry-On Compliant Across The Range: Every duffel in our range is sized to fit standard international airline overhead bins, including the wheeled Voyager at 37 x 55 x 24 cm (14.57 x 21.65 x 9.45 in). We sized the range to airline carry-on dimensions because gate-checked leather luggage gets dragged across tarmac and dropped from belt heights onto baggage trolleys.
• Discreet Brand Markers: Our bags carry no logo plate, no metal nameplate and no printed brand name on the leather - just the discreet VB icon debossed inside the leather and the Von Baer name engraved on lock and zipper hardware. We press the deboss without ink and engrave the mark on the brass itself. Our brand markers stay quiet rather than public, so the only visible name on the leather tag is the one you choose to put there, for that quiet luxury aesthetic.
• Free Personalization Included: Each included leather luggage tag can be personalized with up to four uppercase initials at no extra charge. This is hand-applied with heated brass type - blind embossing, no ink, no thread. We include personalization as standard so what's visible on your luggage tag at the carousel is your name, not ours.
• 5-Year Repair Warranty: We back every bag with a 5-year limited warranty covering defects in materials or workmanship under normal use. Our remedy is repair-first, with no charge to you.
