Material Matters: Leather Excellence

Not all leathers are equal – and some are downright cheap and flimsy. The highest grade is full-grain leather. It is the thickest and longest lasting – and gets more beautiful with age and use, which is a great attribute. It is by far the best choice.

Second place goes to top-grain leather, which is less durable but thinner, lighter, and usually cheaper. Avoid “genuine leather” and bonded leather at all costs – they are not worth even the smaller price tags.

Functionality and Form

A slim wallet is great for the minimalist who doesn’t need or want to carry much with them. For those with multiple IDs, credit and bank cards, club cards, cash, and the kitchen sink in their wallets, a trifold with lots of space is a better bet.
